The Greenwashing trap in ESG data

The practice of monitoring and publishing ESG indicators promises transparency and most often demonstrates the efforts of companies and organizations to address key ESG issues and improve their performance on them.

However, it is not uncommon that ESG reports are a marketing product while the annual reports are inconsistent with actual metric data.

Marketing is not enough to support ESG. Especially for the environment and the climate, the compliance in terms of environmental protection is proven by quantitative data and measurements that support the companies' transition plans and that are integrated in the existing investment models.
